Venezuela SNAFU

No! This was not an unprecedented assault on national sovereignty

The Orange Don is certainly not the first U.S. President to abuse the power of the nation to impose its political will on a sovereign nation. He’s not even the first president to kidnap a sovereign leader. Indeed, current U.S. actions in this South American nation is…pretty much the standard operating procedure.

Yes, it’s likely this is a Wag the Dog situation. Again, nothing new. It is certainly a blatant and violent intervention by the United States in the interests of American Corporations. Gen. Smedley Butler talked about that in the thirty when he described it as a “racket.”

As far as Venezuela is concerned, Situation Normal…All Fucked Up!

If you are looking for a great read, I have the novel for you! In fact, I wrote it! Join Dominico Rossa, an Italian immigrant to the United States in the early 20th century, as he leaves his home with the hope of restoring his family’s prosperity, and win the woman he loves. His hopes and dreams depend on finding success in America. America is the land of opportunity, but She doesn’t give those opportunities away freely. Dominico’s life is a struggle from the streets of New York to the battlefields of World War I as he transforms from a romantic, idealistic provincial boy into a tested, tried, and true American man.
